In brief
- No user account is required.
- Your profile, settings and study history are stored primarily on your device.
- Firebase Analytics and Google Mobile Ads may process usage, device, advertising and diagnostic data only after the applicable privacy and consent flow permits it.
- Apple processes purchases through StoreKit; we do not receive your payment-card details.
- We do not sell personal information.
1. Scope and service operator
This policy applies to the Theory driving-theory study app for iPhone and iPad and its official support website. The app is operated by its developer. For privacy questions, contact app@omanski.co.il.
The app does not require registration and does not operate a user-account server. It uses services provided by Apple, Google and Cloudflare as described below.
2. Data stored on your device
To provide the study experience, the app may store the following information locally:
- A name or nickname entered during onboarding and the selected license class.
- Settings such as Read Aloud, sounds, haptics, daily reminders and onboarding status.
- Question identifiers, selected answers, results, timing and study-session history.
- Topic progress, first-use date and operational values needed to present an appropriate recommendation or ad placement.
- Remove Ads entitlement status after Apple verifies the purchase.
This information is stored using iOS storage mechanisms, including UserDefaults and SwiftData. It is not sent to a server owned by the app operator. Resetting data in the app or deleting the app may remove it, subject to iOS backup and restoration behavior.
3. Usage measurement and diagnostics with Firebase Analytics
Firebase Analytics helps us understand in aggregate which screens and features are used, whether study and purchase flows are completed, and how stability and usability can be improved. Events may include screen views, starting or completing practice and mock exams, using mistake review, viewing a purchase offer, completing a purchase and ad events.
Analytics collection is disabled at startup. It may be enabled only after the Google UMP flow is complete and the applicable consent state permits ad requests and measurement. Once measurement is permitted, it may remain active after Remove Ads is purchased until privacy choices or consent requirements change.
The service may process an installation identifier, general app and device information, interactions, performance and diagnostic information, and approximate location inferred from an IP address. We do not add your name or nickname, question text, answer text or email address to Analytics events.
4. Ads, consent and App Tracking Transparency
The free version may show interstitial and app-open ads through Google Mobile Ads. Depending on settings, consent and applicable law, Google may process an IP address, general app and device information, ad interactions, performance and diagnostics, and installation, device or advertising identifiers.
The app uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain the consent state and display a choice form when required. When UMP requires a permanent privacy-options entry point, it is available in the app’s Settings. Refusing personalized advertising does not prevent access to the core study features, although non-personalized or limited ads may still appear as determined by Google and applicable law.
For users who receive ads, the app may ask for Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission after UMP allows ad requests and before Google Mobile Ads starts. Denying or restricting this permission does not block the study features. The prompt is not requested when the user has an active Remove Ads entitlement.
5. Purchases and Remove Ads
The Remove Ads purchase is made through the App Store and processed by Apple using StoreKit. Apple handles payment details, transaction verification, purchase history and refunds under its policies. The app receives information needed to verify the entitlement, such as a product identifier and transaction status; the app operator does not receive your card number.
6. Notifications, speech and system services
If permission is granted, the daily reminder is scheduled locally using iOS notification services. The app does not use a server to send that reminder. Read Aloud uses iOS speech services; the text is not sent to a server owned by the app operator. Processing by the operating system is governed by your settings and Apple’s policies.
7. Support website and Cloudflare
This is a static website. It has no account, online form, marketing cookies or analytics tool operated by us. Selecting an email link opens your chosen email app, and information is sent only if you choose to send a message.
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and may process IP addresses, request data, security information and technical logs to deliver content, prevent abuse and diagnose issues. This processing is governed by Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
8. External providers and data transfers
The main external providers are:
- Google — Firebase Analytics, Google Mobile Ads and UMP. See Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of data use from partner apps and sites.
- Apple — App Store, StoreKit, notifications and operating-system services. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery and security for the support website.
These providers may process information outside Israel according to their infrastructure, agreements and applicable law. We do not sell personal information or provide your local study history to advertisers.
9. Retention and information security
Local information remains until you reset it in the app, change the relevant setting or remove the app, subject to iOS backups. Information processed by Google, Apple or Cloudflare is retained and deleted according to each provider’s settings and policies.
Communication with external services and this website uses encrypted connections. The app minimizes data and does not create an unnecessary account database, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
- You can reset progress and local data in the app’s Settings.
- You can change or revoke notification permission in iOS Settings.
- When an entry point is required, you can reopen Google privacy options from the app.
- You can change ATT permission in iOS Settings.
- You can purchase Remove Ads and restore a previous purchase through the App Store.
- You may contact us about access, correction or deletion. Because study data is stored on your device without an account, we generally cannot identify or delete it remotely.
11. Younger audiences
The app is intended for driving-theory learners in accordance with the age rating shown on the App Store. It has no user account and does not directly request a street address, phone number or payment details. A parent or guardian may contact us if they are concerned about use or data processing that is inconsistent with this policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, external providers or legal requirements change. The updated text and effective date will be published on this page.
13. Contact
For a privacy question, request or complaint, contact us by email. To protect your privacy, do not send payment details, identity documents or sensitive information that is not required to address your request.
